About the Company

Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications.

Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM).

We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

About the Position


This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong editorial and verbal communication skills to take on ownership on our next generation product documentation.

The individual will work closely with senior-level technical writers and a world class engineering team to manage documentation projects for leading edge technologies while working hands-on with the different EDA tools.

The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand, multiple-deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities

Writing, editing, and production of technical documentation that complies with Microchip and departmental standards and technical English guidelinesWorking directly with engineers to scope, design, develop, edit, and publish technical contentEstablishing schedules and managing multiple project deadlinesRequirements/Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant technical fieldA university-issued certificate in technical communication

Required Skills:
Three or more years of experience as an effective technical writerStrong Technical English writing and editorial skillsStrong verbal/written communication with global teamsStrong organizational skills: project management and status reportingAbility to follow and enforce style/writing guidelines

Additional Skills (desirable):
Experience with DITA or other XML-based authoring/publication systems, Inkscape or other graphics programsExperience with Microchip FPGA or related product documentation
