Accounts Executive

Position Overview:

As an Accounts Executive you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organization, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations while supporting the finance team in achieving departmental objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records using accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Record all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expenses.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial documents for audit and compliance purposes.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present financial reports to senior management and provide insights into financial performance.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including verifying invoices, processing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts.
  • Handle accounts receivable functions, such as issuing invoices, recording revenue, and following up on overdue payments.
  • Monitor and track customer payments, resolving any billing discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the finance team and department heads.
  • Monitor budget performance against actuals and provide variance analysis and explanations as needed.
  • Identify costsaving opportunities and recommend budget adjustments as necessary.

Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, audits, and other regulatory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments to accounting practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like Tally and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with mínimal supervision.
