Position: Countermeasures - Power Engineer
Shift: Monday – Friday
Location: Rosslyn, VA
Salary: Competitive Salary (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret with SCI eligibility

Our client is seeking a dedicated Countermeasures - Power Engineer to support the security and law enforcement efforts of the U.S. Department of State. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the security and effectiveness of technical security countermeasures across global diplomatic facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, operate, and maintain advanced countermeasures systems, focusing on overseas diplomatic facilities.
  • Build and configure countermeasures ensuring proper functionality and operation.
  • Manage hardware and software configuration changes to maintain system interoperability.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support across all phases of countermeasures systems, including pre-installation, installation, and post-installation stages.
  • Coordinate and prepare technical reports and summaries for both pre- and post-assignment documentation.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of new countermeasure systems and testing equipment.
  • Train Department of State personnel on the installation, maintenance, and operation of countermeasure technologies.
  • Perform independent research on emerging technologies and conduct necessary laboratory or field tests.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing technical security policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate logistical aspects related to travel and site support for system installations and maintenance.

Requirements
  • Must hold a current U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in power engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT), security systems, and contemporary security challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and creating electrical and electromechanical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of single and triple phase power systems.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, C++, or other programming languages.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment with occasional travel required.
  • May require travel both within and outside the U.S., including locations with critical threat levels.

Travel:

  • 15% to 40% travel, including potential assignments in high-threat international environments.
