Focus:

Contributes to crafting, developing, trouble shooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying and documenting all data components (data architecture, logical and physical data models, database objects and database administration) that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.

How will you make an impact in this role?Reviews data requirements / data stories and corresponding data sources and data architectureDocuments data requirements / data stories and maintains data models to ensure flawless integration into existing data architecturesSupports management of data assets as per the enterprise standards, guidelines and policiesReviews and understands the processing requirements inclusive of data and transaction volumes, scalability, security and performance requirementsAssists in building and improving the database design and infrastructure required to support the Business portfolioAssists in performing database design review and supports database testingProvides production environment support for database systems and processesCommunicates and works closely with business and product teams to support changes and implementationFunction as an active member if an agile team through consistent development practices (tools, components, and documentation)

Finds opportunities to adopt innovative technologiesTakes part in reviews of own work or with colleaguesWork on prioritized/assigned features for ongoing sprintsQualificationsEducation & Experience:

Up to 5 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:Understanding of Agile or other rapid application development methodsExposure to design and development on CassandraExposure Cassandra data model design.

Configuring and building Cassandra clustersComfortable in tuning Cassandra JVM and it's parameters.
Understanding Cassandra read & write path.
Understanding and experience of usage of different compactions strategies.
Experience on adding Cassandra nodes, rack & Datacenters.
Expert on usage of nodetool, dsbulk, nosqlbench, sstableloader, sstableupdate utility.
Expert on Linux osExpert in usage DSE Opscenter or any other tool that can monitor Cassandra cluster.

Knowledge on usage of Ansible scriptsExperience in writing ELF or Splunk queries and can build dashboards to monitor logsUnderstanding to newer app frameworks and their interactions with DatabasesDSE driver configurationGood understanding and technical knowledge of DBMS products and ecosystem – e.g.

storage formats, access algorithms, data management processes, administration, data maintenance, replication, high availability, encryption, etc."General knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational & non-relational databasesBachelor's Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferredKnowledge/Skills:Able to understand and use data structures and associated componentsBasic understanding of Metadata Management and Database ManagementAble to understand and document business data requirements in complete, accurate, extensible and flexible logical data models using data modeling tools – ErStudio, ErWinCreates basic data models using the relevant tools and frameworksBasic understanding of XML and schema development/reuse, database concepts, database designs, Open Source, big data technology and NoSQL will be an added advantageApplication of industry recognized methods, processes and standardsHas understanding of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, designing, building, testing, configuring and maintaining of assigned application(s)Able to participate in assigned team's software delivery methodology (Agile, Scrum, Agile XP, Test-Driven Development, Waterfall, etc.) in support of data management and database developmentFamiliar with infrastructure technologies and components like servers, jvms, databases, and networking conceptsWe back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
