About the Role


Splunk is looking for enthusiastic and innovative full stack Software Engineers to join our Splunk Observability team who will work on systems that empower our customers to quickly detect and resolve their infrastructure and application issues.

You will closely collaborate with designers, Frontend Architects, and Product Managers to craft and implement modern, delightful and intuitive features that streamline the experience between multiple Splunk products.

We are passionate about solving customers' problems as well as building best-of-its-kind products and you will help us win in this fast-growing market.

Responsibilities


Understand the business scenarios, collaborate with UI/UX designers, Product Managers, and customers to explore and brainstorm new features which yield business value.

Lead or own the design of new features and drive the implementations.

Is accountable for identifying and driving to clean up technical debtsFollow the best software development practices, and hold the high engineering bar for the team by regularly leading design, code and test plan reviews.

Identify improvement opportunities in areas of engineering excellence and operation excellence and implement them successfully.

Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties as needed to ensure service delivery qualityResponsible for debugging and providing solutions or fixes to customer reported issues or requirements.

Helps team estimate middle to large scale work which across a multiple sprint timelinesContribute to grow junior engineers through design & code review, technical talks, mentoring, pair-programming, and etc.

Requirements

Experience in building sophisticated web applications including frontend and backend components, from architecture design to implementation and testing.

Good understanding of microservices and distributed application architectureAbility to partner with designers, Product Management, QA, Doc Writers and other multi-functional teamsProficiency in frontend programming languages such as JavaScript and TypeScript; Good knowledge of 1 or more JS frameworks, e.g.

React, Backbone or AngularProficiency in one or more backend programming languages, such as Go, Java or PythonSolid knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCPExperience with RPC frameworks such as thrift and gRPCPassionate about building sophisticated and powerful user interfaces to tackle customer problems.

Experience with 1 or more relational databases & NoSQL databases is a plus.
Experience of working with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Capable of solving problems through uncertainty and ambiguity.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related majors; 5+ years of relevant proven experience
