The Azure Networking team plays a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the world's most dependable cloud network - Azure.

We are searching for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to contribute to building the network that drives the largest online services globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of network protocols, devices, and large-scale distributed systems essential for managing the Azure Cloud infrastructure.

We are currently seeking Network Engineers of all experience levels for the Microsoft India development center in Hyderabad.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs)

- 5+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 2+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 1+ year(s) of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

- 8+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 3+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

- Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Required Skills

- 4-5+ years of experience in the networking industry or large-scale data center network

- Proficiency in L2/L3 switching platforms, application networking, and network protocols including BGP, OSPF, VRRP, LACP

- Familiarity with large-scale data center/cloud environments, UTP Cabling, Optical cabling

- Competence in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, Perl

- Experience with XML, JSON, and excellent communication skills

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, and conflict management skills

Desired Skills

- Possession of networking certification will be advantageous

Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership in the implementation of new and upgraded data center networks with adherence to best practices

- Manage projects from design phase to implementation

- Collaborate with internal units and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effectively

- Automate tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce errors

- Engage in on-call rotation for network incident support, ensure rapid mitigation, and service restoration

- Advocate best network engineering practices and processes

- Troubleshoot site issues and drive solutions without customer disruption

- Participate in postmortem analysis and contribute to network reliability improvements

- Foster innovation and cost management by developing tools that meet business needs

- Provide mentorship and seek feedback to enhance professional growth
