JOB TITLE: Senior Low Code Platform Developer at Vertiv

Vertiv Service business aims to provide comprehensive service support throughout the life-cycle for customers, making it a fundamental aspect of the Vertiv market offering. On-site operations are critical within the global Vertiv Service organization, with Vertiv CEs conducting numerous visits annually to maintain crucial infrastructure devices for Vertiv Customer applications.

Technical proficiency and expertise define Vertiv Service's distinctiveness and serve as a competitive advantage, enabling the enhancement of individual units, sites, and entire networks. The core tools and applications employed by customer engineers play a vital role in capturing data efficiently for analysis by experts, facilitating recommendations to optimize each system or site.

Deep industry knowledge, advanced technology, and system expertise underline the primary reasons customers opt for Vertiv over competitors.

Vertiv seeks talented low code app developers to implement Service applications for on-site activities.

The selected candidate will operate within an organization reporting directly to the CTO and working alongside subject matter experts, data architects, reporting programmers, and product owners.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The role directly reports to the Global Services Reporting Manager, who is part of the Global Services Platform organization.

ESSENTIAL ROLE FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with architects, experts, and product owners to design and implement technical solutions based on functional and technical design documents.
  • Design low-level technical solutions using the Mendix platform.
  • Estimate development efforts for specific functionalities.
  • Develop functionalities and automate user case testing when necessary.
  • Apply design and system architecture skills to enhance system performance and stability continually.
  • Document solutions and assist in defining tests for each sprint.
  • Support junior developers and testers throughout the development process.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and implement best practices to optimize development and testing efforts.

INTERACTIONS:

  • Engage with R&D from various expertise centers, the academy organization, IT organization, services data analysts, technology-specific services SMEs, and knowledge and data acquisition product owners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The Senior Low Code Platform Developer should possess a background in developing Service Tools geared towards capturing data during on-site interventions in industries such as Utilities, Telecom, Bank, Retail or similar sectors with multiple technologies across numerous sites. Understanding low code platforms is essential.

Human interface plays a pivotal role in such applications, with solutions aimed at reducing effort and boosting on-site efficiency.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical studies
  • Minimum 5 years of development experience and 1-2 years of Mendix (preferred) or similar platform experience
  • Advanced level low code platform certification (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data models
  • Understanding of server-side programming languages; familiarity with front-end technologies is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Preferred knowledge of JavaScript
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle, versioning, repository management, Agile methodology, project management, and tracking tools such as Rally or Jira
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and distributed computing concepts
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Strong communication skills to engage with internal customers at senior levels
  • Fluency in English; other languages like Italian, Spanish, French, or German are advantageous but not mandatory
