Job Title: Apache Pulsar Messaging Systems Developer

Primary Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of Apache Pulsar architecture, covering topics like topics, subscriptions, producers, consumers, and brokers.
  • Experience in deploying, managing, and resolving issues in Apache Pulsar clusters.
  • Proficient in optimizing Pulsar for performance and scalability using Pulsar Perf and other enhancement techniques.

Secondary Skills:
  • Familiarity with Kafka as an advantage for grasping Pulsar nuances compared to other platforms.
  • Strong grasp of Java programming language due to Pulsar's Java-based nature.
  • Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, for Pulsar cluster deployment and management.
  • Understanding of Confluent Platform, an Apache Kafka commercial distribution, is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain Apache Pulsar messaging systems for efficient data streaming.
  • Deep dive into Pulsar architecture components like topics, subscriptions, producers, consumers, and brokers.
  • Configure Pulsar broker load balancing for optimal performance.
  • Set up Pulsar tenants, namespaces, and topics for effective data management.
  • Utilize Pulsar REST APIs for seamless interaction with the messaging system.
  • Ensure highly available Pulsar deployments using replication and failover mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for effective communication and solution implementation.
  • Analyze technical issues in Pulsar deployments and provide efficient troubleshooting.
  • Implement microbatch APIs within the Pulsar ecosystem for specific use cases.
  • Optimize Pulsar cluster performance using tools like Pulsar Perf.
  • Understand the differences between event streaming and batch streaming methodologies.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Science preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Apache Pulsar and relevant technologies can substitute formal education.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients effectively.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems for managing Pulsar infrastructure.
  • Solid grasp of cloud technologies, especially Azure, for cloud-based deployments.
