Join us as a Mortgage Underwriting Delivery Manager
We'll look to you to make sure decisions on mortgage applications are made in a timely manner and within policy and that your team meet agreed service level agreementsYou'll be managing stakeholder relationships, internally and externally, making sure that delivery is in line with the operational requirements and aligned to customer and business needsEvery day, you'll have the chance to solve new problems, create smarter solutions and stretch your capability in an environment that promises non-stop innovation and excellent development opportunitiesWe're offering this role at associate levelWhat you'll do As a Mortgage Underwriting Delivery Manager, you'll be maintaining a clear understanding of the needs of our customers and stakeholders to deliver the most appropriate and fit for purpose solution when dealing with complex issues. You'll be coaching and developing the team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic and ensuring excellent service to our brokers and applicants. In addition, you'll be: Overseeing the gathering and maintenance of business critical management information to make sure that assurance and compliance objectives are metProviding subject matter knowledge to the team to make sure that policy standards are effectively and accurately embedded across divisionsActing as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to enable and inform effective standards, processes and controlsSupporting the development of the team performance and customer service by role modelling our core service behaviours and standards, and adopting leadership tools and techniquesPlanning and delivering the effective management of key controls and support in the development and maintenance of the business continuity plansThe skills you'll need We're looking for an experienced mortgage underwriter with residential and buy to let underwriting experience. You'll also need experience in UK residential mortgages with thorough knowledge of the end-to-end mortgage lifecycle. Ideally, you'll also have underwriting experience. As well as the ability to lead and manage at the required level, you'll need specialist mortgage lending knowledge and experience. You'll also need: Strong relationship management and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work under own initiative and as a team playerKnowledge of relevant internal and external regulatory frameworksDemonstrable motivation skills that promote performance within the underwriting teamCollaboration skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with key stakeholders-
