We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you are:


Responsible for designing Solution Architecture for Complex Data warehouse ETL applications both on-prem and cloud preferably GCP.Exposure to Grid technology for deployment of DataStage and knowledge of DataStage Parallel jobs is needed.

Knowledge of Metadata Repositories like Collibra.
Previous experience of working on Data related initiatives is desirable.
Bring innovation and automation to daily tasks.
Be instrumental in carrying out POCs and assess technical feasibility of tools.

Responsible for performing system development work around ETL, which can include both the development of new function and facilities and the on-going systems support of live systems.

There are several job functions within the role and the job holder may specialize in a single function or alternatively a combination of functions.

Responsible for the documentation, coding and maintenance of new and existing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes within the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Investigate live systems faults, diagnose problems and propose and provide solutions.
Report progress as required and advise of problems in good time.
Convert requirements into sustainable technical solution through coding best practices.
Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs to departmental and Group standards.

Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.

Update programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Review code and documentation to ensure code meets the design criteria and work is of an acceptable quality.

Review code from team members Analyst/Developers as part of the quality assurance processProduce unit test plans with detailed expected results to fully exercise the code.

Correct errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.

Conduct unit testing of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:Have experience on Datastage, Linux/Unix and SQL(Teradata is preferable), Scheduling tools (Control-M is preferable)Have exposure or worked on GCP's Data Storage and Processing services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Bigtable, Cloud spanner, Cloud SQL.Extensive hands-on experience in Data Transformation Solution Implementation including configuration / maintenance / monitoring / backup & recovery.

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and data integration techniques.
The role involves taking instructions, usually in written or diagrammatic form, and translating them into a code.

Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse systems and moving it to the BI.Prepare all ETL processes according to business requirements.

Responsible for creating functional and/or technical design solutions and ensuring those requirements are documented.
Diagnose ETL and database related issues, perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to management. Responsible to perform tests and validate the data flow.
Manage current and future needs of the data design and content.
Consults with users to resolve issues with programs. Contributes to the development of project plans and timelines, provide estimates for planned work.
Work with a project team to support the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of new ETL programs.
Having exposure to data transferring mechanisms through Juniper framework.
Stay updated with latest trends and best practices in ETL development, data engineering, cloud technologies, and Juniper networking.
Good to have Google Cloud Certification (, GCP Professional Data Engineer)
