Associate, Business Finance

The Associate Business Finance job is responsible for compiling and analyzing the financial results of the organization. Through business analysis, financial record-keeping, modeling and forecasting, this job helps drive the strategic direction of the organization. Under general supervision, this job also provides financial insights that senior management uses to inform business and financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conducts forecasts and models of monthly financial results to allow senior team members to identify drivers, explain key variances and inform recommendations to senior management.
  • Supports reforecasting activities and updating/evolving forecast models.
  • Assists with updating general ledger journal entry postings during the closing process to help ensure that financial statements are accurate.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports that analyze financial results versus budget/forecasts.
  • Ensures financial operations are in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and vision.
  • Drafts financial reports and presentations to be delivered to management that inform business and financial decisions.
  • Seeks guidance from senior Financial Planning & Analysis team members regarding challenges that require more advanced knowledge and experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Generate Business KPIs metrics/ AUM / Revenue reporting and analysis.
  • Providing Budgeting/Forecasting Support.
  • Should have experience in summarizing Institutional Sales (Private Equity, Alternatives, etc.)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly financial reporting for different business areas ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables.
  • Develop system controls for ensuring data integrity as well as avoid future recurrences.
  • Perform special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
  • Assist in the development of all automated reports, insuring desired accuracy and format.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of existing processes and new reports.
  • Improve organizational accountability and decision making through consistent and accurate reporting, meeting required business cadences, and creating more effective communication and education. Drive change in processes and systems, and work to influence faster adoption, greater utilization, and higher skills proficiency.

Business or Industry Expertise:
Financial services, specifically Asset & Wealth Management including finance and accounting, company experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid PC skills including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Hyperion Essbase/Smart View skills. Alteryx and Thinkcell is a plus.
  • Expertise in interpret, analyze and visualize financial data using Tableau.
  • Knowledge on MS access and VBA is good to have.
  • Financial reporting/analysis experience. Asset Management industry experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve performance.
  • Good critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to succeed and work independently in a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible to work in shift timing 2PM to 11PM IST (3.30 AM EST to 12.30 PM EST) during normal days and 5:30PM IST to 2:30AM IST (8.00 AM EST to 5 PM EST) during certain peak periods.

Required Education:
BA/BS Commerce / Accounting or Finance

Preferred Education:
Masters Business Administration

Required Experience: 5-9 years, 5 years in Finance / Reporting role
