SQL Server, Git, Excel VBA, ResQ - Cots Product vendor application ResQ - SQL server Actuarial Systems Developer We are seeking a skilled and experienced Actuarial Systems developer our team.

As an Actuarial Systems Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Actuarial systems, specifically the Cots Product vendor application, using SQL Server, Git, Excel VBA, and ResQ.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for our Actuarial systems, with a primary focus on the Cots Product vendor application.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Actuarial systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with the development team to implement enhancements and bug fixes in the Actuarial systems.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the Actuarial systems.
  • Utilize Git for version control and collaborate with the development team to manage code repositories effectively.
  • Develop and maintain Excel VBA macros to automate Actuarial processes, streamline data analysis, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilize ResQ, a specialized actuarial software, to evaluate and analyze insurance liabilities and perform scenario modeling.
  • Provide training and support to end-users of the Actuarial systems, ensuring they can effectively utilize the systems for their respective tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Actuarial, Finance, and IT, to gather requirements, implement changes, and improve system functionality.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement performance optimization strategies.
  • Document system processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity

Requirements:

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience of 10 years in supporting Actuarial systems, preferably with experience in the Cots Product vendor application.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including query optimization, performance tuning, and data extraction.
  • Experience working with Git for version control, managing code repositories, and collaborating with the development team.
  • Proficiency in Excel VBA for developing macros and automation of Actuarial processes.
  • Familiarity with ResQ or other similar actuarial software for insurance liability analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in the Actuarial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training and support to end-users.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and system troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Actuarial principles and insurance industry concepts is desirable.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.
