Governance & Forensic Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities:

Governance & Forensic Accounting Research:

  • Work closely with global portfolio managers and fundamental analysts to coordinate and collaborate on governance and forensic accounting research across diverse markets (Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Boston).
  • Independently lead meetings with senior management teams (CEOs, CFOs, COOs, board members, and IR representatives) of global corporations to gather information and assess governance practices.
  • Conduct indepth research on companies' financial statements, accounting policies, and potential red flags, leveraging your forensic accounting expertise.
  • Analyze corporate governance structures, identify potential risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.

Thought Leadership & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Publish thematic research reports, thought leadership pieces, and educational series on key areas of governance and forensic accounting, providing valuable insights to investment professionals.
  • Present research findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and analysts, contributing to informed investment decisions.

Engagement & Advocacy:

  • Engage with boards of directors and management teams of portfolio companies to promote best practices in corporate governance and improve disclosure practices.
  • Proactively monitor fund holdings for potential risks, including accounting red flags, short seller attacks, controversies, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) issues, and sanctions.
  • Build strong industry connections with sellside analysts, expert networks, and industry bodies to stay informed of market developments and potential risks.


Participate in roundtables, consultations, and other initiatives with market regulators and stock exchanges to advocate for improved regulatory frameworks, particularly in emerging markets.

Conduct market intelligence gathering through in-person meetings or approved Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

  • Additional qualification of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Master of Business Administration (MBA) highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 38 years of experience in forensic accounting, financial due diligence, or fraud investigation (adjust experience based on your company's needs).
  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and best practices in corporate governance.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify and assess potential risks.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with senior management teams and industry professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
