Job Summary
As the Government and Public Affairs Lead for Philips Indian Subcontinent, you will play a crucial role in managing and bolstering Philips' relationships with government entities and public stakeholders in India. This role demands a deep understanding of the political landscape, regulatory environment, and public funding dynamics in both India and South Asia and exposure to the global regulatory environment. Expertise in policies and issues relating to health system resilience, sustainability, and the digital transformation of healthcare will be an asset.

Your responsibilities will encompass proactive engagement with government officials, industry associations, and key influencers to shape policies and regulations that align with Philips' goals and business objectives. You will also be responsible for monitoring legislative developments, industry trends and public funding opportunities that impact both Philips and its customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials at all levels, including local, regional, and national authorities. Act as the primary point of contact for government engagements and represent Philips in relevant forums. Includes Government incentives, PLI schemes, PPP, STPI, etc
- Policy Analysis: Conduct research and analyze policies and regulations in the Indian healthcare market. Assess their impact on Philips and provide insights to internal stakeholders. Stay updated on healthcare trends and research and participate in industry and public consultations.
- Legislative Support: Provide operational support to all legislative processes, including drafting position papers, preparing briefing materials, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure alignment with Philips' objectives. Monitor legislative developments and propose and implement advocacy strategies to support Philips' positions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in various trade associations and engage with relevant stakeholders to understand their perspectives and influence policy discussions. Evaluate country legislative regulations and provide recommendations to ensure Philips' compliance and market access.
- Advocacy and Thought Leadership: Develop advocacy strategies for policies, regulations, and programs that impact Philips' positions and business objectives. Leverage thought leadership to complement the implementation of Philips' strategies in the Indian healthcare market.
- Business to Government: Maintain relevant government and stakeholder relations to support lead generation and conversion for Philips. Monitor and influence public sector budgets and investments.
- Country Map public investments and healthcare funding programs to commercial opportunities for Philips and its customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or related roles, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the Indian healthcare system, legislative processes, and regulatory environment.
- Competency in analyzing public healthcare budgets and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and assess policy and regulatory impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with government officials and stakeholders.
- A keen sense of business acumen with an ability to connect key business issues, competitive drivers and threats to public policy matters.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
