Intensivist

Job Description :

Ajara Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensivist to join our dedicated critical care team. The Intensivist will be responsible for the comprehensive care of critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role involves diagnosing, treating, and providing continuous monitoring and support to patients with life-threatening conditions. The Intensivist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Patient Care:

Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients.

Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Monitor and adjust therapies as necessary, including ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and other critical care interventions.

Conduct daily rounds and ensure thorough documentation in medical records.

Team Collaboration:

Lead and participate in multidisciplinary rounds, discussing patient progress and coordinating care plans.

Collaborate with other specialists, nurses, and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.

Provide guidance and support to nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team.

Procedural Expertise:

Perform and supervise procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line placement, arterial line insertion, chest tube placement, and more.

Ensure that all procedures are performed in accordance with hospital policies and best practice guidelines.

Education and Training:

Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and prognoses.

Mentor and train medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals in critical care practices.

Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities to stay updated with the latest advancements in critical care medicine.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects within the ICU.

Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and implement changes to improve care delivery.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Flexibility /Duties:

Participate in the ICU on-call schedule, providing 24/7 coverage as needed.

Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.

Be available for 4-5 night duties per month, managing critical care needs and ensuring patient safety during night shifts.
