Procurement:

The department identifies the required materials, prepares purchase requisitions, and communicates with suppliers to procure the necessary items within the project specifications and budgetary constraints.


Inventory management:
The Store Department maintains an inventory of construction materials, equipment, and supplies.

This includes receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials, as well as tracking quantities, locations, and conditions of the inventory items.


Issuing materials:

When materials are needed for construction activities, the Store Department is responsible for issuing them to the appropriate individuals or departments.

They ensure that the materials are properly accounted for and recorded.

Record keeping:

The Store Department maintains accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and stock registers.

This helps in tracking the usage, consumption, and availability of materials.

Quality control:

The department may be involved in quality control activities, including inspecting incoming materials for compliance with project specifications, ensuring proper storage conditions to prevent damage, and managing returns or replacements of defective items.


Reconciliation:
The Store Department conducts periodic stock reconciliations to compare the physical stock with the recorded stock levels. Discrepancies are investigated, and necessary actions are taken to rectify any discrepancies found.

Waste management:

The department may also handle the proper disposal or recycling of construction waste materials, in compliance with environmental regulations and project policies.

Salary:
