  • Overall Experience: 8 to 10 years in QA and ETL testing.
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Lead and oversee the Quality Engineering and Assurance (QEA) team responsible for maintaining software and data product quality and reliability within the Databricks environment.
  • Test Strategy and Planning: Develop, implement, and supervise the quality assurance strategy and test planning for Databricks' products and solutions.
  • Knowledge on Data Pipelines: Efficient data pipeline knowledge using Azure Databricks and its native services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Quality Process Improvement: Constantly evaluate and enhance quality assurance processes and methodologies to boost the QA team's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Test Automation: Lead the automation of testing processes, including creating and maintaining test scripts and frameworks.
  • Testing Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire testing lifecycle from test case creation to execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Release Management: Coordinate with development and product management teams to ensure software releases meet quality standards and are delivered as planned.
  • Quality Metrics: Define and monitor crucial quality metrics and performance indicators to offer insights into Databricks' product quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development, data engineering, data science, and other teams to embed quality into all product development phases.
  • Security and Compliance Testing: Ensure Databricks' products comply with security and compliance regulations and perform necessary security tests.
  • Problem Resolution: Supervise defect identification and resolution, working closely with development teams to swiftly address issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of testing processes, test cases, and results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive expertise in quality engineering, software testing, and quality assurance, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, test automation tools, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Experience with big data technologies, data processing, and analytics platforms relevant to Databricks.
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities, with a talent for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Databricks' platform and associated technologies is often desired.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure Cloud can be advantageous.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
