Competencies:

  • Interact with clients and other resources to elicit business requirements and specifications and manage the prioritization of analytics (intake process)
  • Interpret customer/business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements (reports, dashboards)
  • Develop, maintain, and document MicroStrategy reports and dashboards
  • Create GIS and Data Visualization Reporting within Microstrategy Dashboards and Reports
  • Design, Develop, Test and Implement Microstrategy Reports and Reports Objects
  • Strong Hands-on experience using Microstrategy Suite of products (MicroStrategy 10.x preferred)
  • Performance tuning including Microstrategy schemas, individual reports and leveraging Intelligent Cube technology
  • Develop queries to retrieve and analyze data from various sources for projects, program, or reports
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understand and distinguish user requests from the underlying needs
  • Liaise between the business units, technology partners and BICC peers
  • Plan, test and implement enhancements to the BI environment on a regular release cycle
  • Provide training to peers and end users in the use of reporting, data provisioning and analytic tools
  • Collaborate closely with FCT Database and Reporting Analyst on schema and FCT Data mart

Technical Skills:

  • 6+ years' experience with Microstrategy products, with experience as both a developer and architect
  • Microstrategy report development including creating metrics, filters, prompts, consolidations, and custom groups. Also proven experience in Metadata Schema Development (Microstrategy)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the MicroStrategy tool suite (I-Server, Architect, Desktop, Web, Narrowcast, OLAP Services and Report Services).
  • Must be able to write complex SQL themselves to perform data and performance analysis in support of reporting applications
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in the areas of layout, navigation, browser-compatibility, usability and accessibility
  • Should raise appropriate questions/queries in the project and follow up on that as well
  • Familiarity with data architectures and IT processes (ETL, Change Management, etc ) processes.
  • Should have knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Strong problem-solving, trouble-shooting and issue resolution skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working effectively and creatively without direction, as well as in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and strong presentation and persuasion skill
  • Microstrategy Certification is good to have.

Educational Qualification and Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.

Professional work experience of 6 to 9 years.
