Crane India is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team at the Design Centre in Baner, Pune.

Position Summary:

This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail who will be responsible for design activities of NPD, VAVE, and Sustaining Engineering projects independently. Tasks include developing best practices for embedded systems, C/C++ programming, and more. Additionally, the engineer will work on continuous improvement initiatives with the Engineering teams.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Algorithm development for efficient solutions
  • Establish best practices for Embedded systems and programming
  • Create software flow charts and algorithms
  • Debug and test programs on prototypes
  • Analyze design failure modes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with Engineering to convert customer specifications into engineering requirements
  • Participate in design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Computer Science Engineering with 5-6 years' R&D/ engineering experience
  • Experience with Arm microcontrollers, debugging tools, and communication protocols
  • Proficiency in design calculations, DFMA, and DFMEA
  • Hands-on experience in Embedded C/C++, RTOS, and bootloader development
  • Familiarity with serial protocols and smart products
  • Understanding of software development for EMI/EMC protection, SIL systems, and hazardous locations approvals
  • Demonstrated experience in generating innovative product design ideas
