The role supports the GPB business, function, or HTS heads in the effective discharge of their risk management and internal control responsibilities.


The Opportunity:


The First Line Risk and Control team is responsible for assisting with and supporting the effective governance and management of non-financial risks in the First Line of Defence.

The focus of the role is to support the effective management and monitoring of controls for GPB ASP

What you'll do:

  • Participate in validating the design and operating effectiveness of the key controls through inspection, inquiry, observation, sampling, reperformance and recalculation.
  • Participate in the review of risks and key controls through endtoend process walkthroughs, events or thematic reviews, datadriven reviews or issue read across, and evidence reviews.
  • Participate in activities to help ensure control assessments are accurate, effective, comply with procedures and templates, and meet quality control requirements.
  • Assist with the promotion of accountable risk and control decisionmaking based on quality data and commercial analysis
  • Assist with the provision of specialist risk and control knowledge and insights
  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment
  • Support the challenging of poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles
  • A good understanding of the Group's Operational Risk Framework
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven problemsolving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills
  • Independent and able to work under mínimal supervision
  • Ability to deal with complex problems and work under ambiguous conditions
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment
  • Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment
  • A sound knowledge of the Group and the GPB business, including products & services
  • Detailoriented and resultsfocused
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Skillset in digitalization, data analytics is an advantage
  • Be a motivated team player and flexible in approach
