Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions according to the doctor's orders.
  • Ensure the correct dosage, medication type, and administration instructions.

  • Provide patients with information on their medications, including how to take them, potential side effects, and storage instructions.
  • Answer patient questions and address concerns about medications and health conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.
D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.

Licensure: Must be licensed to practice as a pharmacist in the state of employment. This typically requires passing the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and a state law exam.

Experience: Prior experience in a pharmacy setting, such as a residency or internship, is preferred.
