What you will be doing

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Designs, implements, unit tests, documents and deploys applications and APIs based on functional requirements

• Designs and develops database applications using SQL Server Integration Services, TSQL and Stored Procedures

• Consults with the business to determine logical design for new business solutions according to existing data architecture

• Performs code reviews, analyze execution plans, and re-factor inefficient code

• Provides technical support & guidance to Software Engineers I/II in development of desired software/applications

• Follows data standards, resolves data issues, completes unit testing and completes system documentation for ETL processes

• Assists Managers with project development, including documentation of features, recording of progress, and creation of the testing plan

• Collaborates with business analysts, source system experts, and other team members to determine data extraction and transformation requirements

• Collaborates with IT operations and testing organizations to ensure timely releases of projects and database environments are sustainable

• Supports IT staff and business users in the development, usage and troubleshooting of database-driven applications

• Creates detailed designs, performs analyses, creates prototypes, and documents completed design

• Acts as a senior member of the team; represents the organization on project teams and may perform technical project leadership roles while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups

• Intermediates knowledge on client requests, features, best practices, project scopes, and budgets

• Contributes to the growth of the company by advancing personal skills, working with the development team to improve the codebase, and seeking opportunities to improve the company's tools and processes

• Designs, develops, and automates scalable data engineering solutions by leveraging cloud infrastructure

• Extends or migrate existing data pipelines to new cloud environment

• Crafts data models of program processes and data entities and develops technical design & documentation of solutions

• Participates in optimization of data asset performance

• Transfers knowledge of data access/consumption mechanisms to business stakeholders, data visualization specialists and/or data scientists

• Develops solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues

Job Description

Under general direction of the Manager, responsible for working directly with functional team members deployment team and Systems Integration (SI) partner team members.
1. Takes a hands-on approach as it relates to the design development and implementation.
2. Works with the functional team to ensure requirements are met by technical design.
3. Facilitates issue resolution during testing process.
4. Operates as the internal technical expert on Customer ABAP Development, ABAP, UI5, HANA, and other SAP related technologies to develop functional solutions that solve business needs and align with IT strategy
5. Functions as the technical designer of future enhancements on Customer ABAP Development.
6. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires training in fields such as information systems computer sciences or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program; normally requires a minimum of five (5+) years directly related and progressively responsible experience designing building testing and deploying enterprise SAP solutions; 3 plus years of SAP application development (certification preferred) with in-depth experience in ABAP Workbench, ABAP Objects, BAPI, BADI's, RFC Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, IDOCs, BDC and ALV Programming.

SAP Sr ABAP Programmer

What you will be doing

•Analyzes system operations through monitoring, capacity analysis and root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.

•Assists in the overall maintenance and support of efficient software solutions. Collaborates with technology teams across the Organization to leverage resources and expertise, establish software best practices and standards, and build for partnerships with IT teams.

•Responsible for program designs, development, unit testing, peer reviews in an SAP ABAP environment.

•Responsible for identifying development tasks in support of project planning and estimation.

• Participates in and makes performance recommendations to code during peer reviews.

• Works with functional and business users to troubleshoot issues in production.

• Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), modeling of business processes, application design patterns, and business/functional documents

• Supports the building and maintenance of an Enterprise portfolio to support Application capabilities lifecycle and roadmap initiatives.

• Advises business areas in the analysis of innovative technologies and how they impact the broader Enterprise Architecture

• Assists in the analysis, design, and development of the business solutions.

• Analyzes industry standards and trends in integration technologies.

• Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.

• Conducts SAP unit testing to ensure systems meets user specifications.

• Requires increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area.

• May participate in the project planning process with team members.

• May meet with process team to analyze business processes, understand requirements, and recommend technical solutions.

• May provide production support as needed. Identifies recurring and potential problems.

• Reviews and may assist in development of policies and procedures for production monitoring, scheduling, restart and recovery procedures.

• Conducts SAP unit testing to ensure systems meets user specifications.

• May analyzes existing SAP platform to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements, when assigned.

• Troubleshoots existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions.

• Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.

• Develops reports and presentations for senior management, as needed.

• Works with functional users to troubleshoot issues in production.

• Troubleshoots and resolves production problems.

• Escalates issues to manager and admin and process teams where necessary.

• Identifies recurring and potential problems and recommends procedures and controls for prevention.

• Recommends ideas for improving production support.

• Documents technical design and test activities/results

• Follows established change control procedures.

• Provides input to the development and maintenance of development standards for full life cycle implementations or upgrades.

• Assists in evaluating new SAP application development tools.

• Demonstrates knowledge of ABAP development

• ABAP coding experience with a expert understanding of work processes, dynamic coding, parallel processing, DDIC and ABAP tuning techniques.

• Experience in SAP Fiori (on-premise and cloud) and web user interface technologies like SAPUI5, JavaScript and Web IDE

• Familiarity with capabilities of SAP HANA is desired but not required for this role.
