Job Description - ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME)

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a crucial role in the ServiceNow implementation project team, focusing on implementing application modules. Collaborating with the Project Manager, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, and support team members, the SME contributes to delivering comprehensive solutions for customers.

  • Understand all technical aspects of the ServiceNow (SNow) implementation, including Solution architecture, Application UI, Process and solution integration, Workflow design/configuration, Reporting, Integration components (SSO, LDAP, etc.)
  • Proven track record as a key technical resource leading Service Now solution development
  • Experience with web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, and Web Services)
  • Familiarity with technical components such as LDAP, VPN, SSL technologies

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with expertise in ITSM technologies and be comfortable in a dynamic technical environment with a growing customer base. Additionally, they should be organized, analytical, collaborative, punctual, and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Preferred qualifications include:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent
  • Advanced experience in ServiceNow implementations
  • Experience with other ITSM software (BMC, Landesk, Cherwell, Heat, Axios, HP, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities
  • The capacity to comprehend business requirements and translate them into solution designs
  • Knowledge of web-based and service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture, and adeptness in managing expectations and priorities
  • Familiarity with project methodologies and 5-7 years of relevant experience in professional services or customer support operations
  • 3-6 years of ITSM systems integration and/or implementation experience
  • Proven Solutions consulting background
  • Preferred ServiceNow Certifications: Certified System Administrator and Certified Implementation Specialist
