The Role:

Morningstar seeks a self-motivated Data Content Researcher to join Mumbai MID team.

In this role, you will work with ESG team, portfolio team, content team, tech team to develop and implement enhancements to various data and analysis of data.

You will be a key contributor to design new data content process flow and user interface, build creative tool and provide constructive consultant for data process enhancement.

Your exposure to global team will allow you to have a solid foundation for your career. This position is based in our Mumbai office.

Responsibilities:

  • Use data mining to surface data issue and support data strategy decisionmaking.
  • Master in Sustainable Attributes and ESG SFDR data knowledge, database backend knowledge and methodology, maintain the knowledge and build readable documentation; being as the consulting point for ESG data questions
  • Follow agile scrum framework to collaborate with technical team and data scientist, to perform business analysis and to design new Sustainable Attributes and ESG SFDR data process flow, user interface, backend logic, and machine learning automation tools.
  • Design new content process flow and user interface, build backend logic to ensure data accuracy.
  • Provide solution and consultation for data processing improvement from overall data perspective.
  • Provide proper proposal for data quality control backend logic to drive data accuracy improvement.
  • Translate system improvement requirement of cross team into usable technology language through detailed written specifications.
  • Maintain database backend knowledge and build readable documentation.
  • Own the outcome of brainstorming sessions with product teams and clients in building new datasets, strategies, and roadmap
  • Work closely with program manager and project specialists to deliver on the roadmap
  • Act on risks identified in the project delivery and liaise with Product and Clients to set the right expectation

Requirements:

  • At least 3years professional experience working in investment data industry with wide and deep database knowledge. Senior Data Analyst role and above.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business with an exceptional academic record.
  • Be familiar with at least one of Python, R, SQL.
  • Has keen interest in ESG
  • Strong quantitative and business analysis skills
  • Excellent English verbal/presentation/written communication skills
  • Highly interested in data and analytics
  • Profound understanding of fund
  • Data, system, process, and backend logic
  • Selfmotivated, detailoriented, and organized
  • Able to lead global projects, coordinating with global operations teams, working across different time zones
  • Ability to create and maintain SOP's and documentation on the datasets being used.
  • Able and willing to take a few early and late calls a week.
  • Knowledge of building models in MS-Excel to estimate timelines, resources etc.
  • Good understanding of RCA tools
  • Logical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Professional degree (CA, CA-Inter, ICWA, ICWA-Inter, CFA) preferred.
  • Experience / certification in ESG studies
