Master Data Team Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Master Data Administrators, providing guidance, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Led the maintenance and creation of master data records for materials, customers, vendors, business partners, and pricing in multiple SAP systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data governance standards and policies.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness by implementing robust data quality controls and processes.
  • Oversee the resolution of data-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain data maintenance best practices and continuously seek process improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with IT teams to support SAP system enhancements, upgrades, and data integration projects.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to master data management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in master data management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all master data-related inquiries and escalations, providing expert guidance to resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate with SAP system administrators and IT teams to ensure the smooth integration of master data processes and any system enhancements or updates.
  • Lead data cleansing and data enrichment initiatives to improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain data governance documentation, including data standards, procedures, and workflows.
  • Conduct regular audits and data quality assessments to identify and address data discrepancies and anomalies.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry compliance requirements related to master data, and ensure the organization's adherence to these standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (12+ years) in master data management, with a strong background in SAP systems.
  • Leadership experience in leading teams.
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality, and data management best practices.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other SAP ERP systems is a must.
  • Experience in data migration and transformation projects, including data mapping and data conversion processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management skills to oversee data-related projects and initiatives effectively.
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Familiarity with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and SAP Information Steward is a strong plus.
  • SAP certification is a plus.
  • English proficiency
