AHEAD is searching for a Linux Administrator to be part of our Managed Services Team. Candidates should possess the ability to problem solve and perform high level technical analysis of incidents and problems in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are eager to learn, customer focused, an effective communicator, and can perform tasks without direct oversight. The Systems Administrator will report to and receive technical direction from the Manager, Systems Engineering. Your core experience should include administration, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning of Linux/UNIX distributions.

Responsibilities:

Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

Qualifications:

Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 4+ years. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc. Hands on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage Strong problem solving and communication skills Why AHEAD: Through our daily work and internal groups like Moving Women AHEAD and RISE AHEAD, we value and benefit from diversity of people, ideas, experience, and everything in between.We fuel growth by stacking our office with top-notch technologies in a multi-million-dollar lab, by encouraging cross department training and development, sponsoring certifications and credentials for continued learning.We understand that you have a life outside of work.
