dSpace (SharePoint 2010) site discovery and classification to determine sites that qualify for migration to SharePoint Online (Precondition that the Production environment containing the migration is: a) productions b) security design authority approved c) operations team approval for discovery on production dSpace environmentShared drives site discovery classification to determine active shared drives that qualify for migration to SharePoint Online.

Pre-condition a) access to the shared drive file service utility b) file service utility team approval to access b) Sharegate operationally readyH drives (Personal folders) analysis and monitoring based on candidacy criteria to determine home Drive folders that qualify for migration to OneDrive for Business.

Validate and verify migration requirements

Participate in agile based activities

Analyze discovery report and plans for proof-of-concept migration

Define migration job and troubleshoot on migration issues

Test functionalities in dev migration environment and prepare test strategy and test report.

Engage with site owners for migration timelines and migration engagement process

Provide migration support to operations team of SharePoint as and when required.

Support in end user communications as and when required.

Help in setting up knowledge base article for support team

Daily TasksPre:

before the activity, check the Legacy SharePoint online PO, Shared drives and home drive dataset and confirm completenessPre: Categorize pre-migration data from Discovery and determine sites based on Size and candidacyPre: Elect suitable sites that qualify for targeting and determine sites which require further investigation due to identified issues with File type, hierarchy, permission or workflowsDuring: Provide detailed data on Discovery output and present suitable site schedule based on size, Business unit and contentDuring: Monitor the Discovery tooling reports for issues and live errorsDuring: Remediate data discovery analysisPost: after the activity, review Data discovery success and troubleshoot issuesPost: Resolve issues identified with Discovery process and feed back into relevant teamsThe team will generate report for each of the data source (Sharepoint online On Prem & File Shares and H drives).


The report should contain the following:
Data overview of the data contained and suitability for migrationList Information – content type, permission, list template, site columnsAnalysis of type of content and file informationURL Length information (400 characters)File/folder naming convention analysisInformation related to workflowsUser information, owner, manager, approver, membersGroup Information – Business unit and focus areaCustomized page identificationSite and folder HierarchyManaged metadata usage informationHome grown customization identificationUnsupported features
