  • Capable of planning, driving, or delegating testing activities throughout all stages and iterations of product, systems, and service development.
  • Offers authoritative advice and guidance on all aspects of software testing.
  • Recommends and adapts appropriate testing methods, automated tools, and techniques to address issues in tools and testing approaches.
  • Measures and monitors the application of standards for testing, assesses risks, and takes preventive action.
  • Identifies improvements and contributes to the development of organizational testing policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Sporadic travel to the UK may be required, usually one visit every 2 years, based on business or project needs.

Principal Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Accountable for setting the Test Strategy encompassing all testing phases, including Functional Testing, Automation Testing, Performance Testing, PEN Testing, and Accessibility Testing, as well as planning and estimating for responsible projects or products.
  • Coordinates the delivery of testing solutions, manages testing tasks for a team of testers, and senior testers throughout the testing lifecycle, providing direction, leadership, and guidance.
  • Ensures overall Software Quality for projects/products/programs involving a team of more than 12 individuals.
  • Oversees the production, quality, and accuracy of all test artifacts, ensuring adherence to the Civica Test Policy.
  • Collaborates with the Test Practice Manager to enhance Civica Software Quality Assurance standards.
  • Generates test deliverables, Test Plans, and Test Outcome Reports.
  • Manages the quality aspects of testing work and conducts peer reviews of testing artifacts created by team members.
  • Provides concise process updates to ensure transparency of the test process to project/product teams and the Civica Software Quality Assurance team.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks or issues that may impact testing deliverables.
  • Reports on assessment findings and associated risks, ensuring identification of corrective action owners.
  • Promotes process improvements and efficiencies, acting as a mentor and coach to the testing community.
  • Leads Testing within the Business Unit autonomously, managing assigned Testers and facilitating upskilling and cross-skilling of Testing Team members.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts reviews and assessments of complex domain areas to identify improvement opportunities in organizational control mechanisms.
  • Oversees assurance activities, providing expertise and advice to support assurance initiatives.
  • Reviews and analyzes quality metrics and Test Coverage to develop action plans, provide guidance on methods and tools adoption, and ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Implements methods and tools at program, project, and team levels, identifying communication and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement strategies, promoting understanding through open communication and feedback.
  • Maintains team members' product knowledge to align with evolving products.

Essential Competencies

  • Proficient in spoken English, actively participates in meetings and discussions.
  • Proactive, autonomous, hands-on in Functional Testing (Manual and Automation).
  • Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiates solutions to encountered testing problems, understands Test Policy, Framework, and organizational standards.

Relevant Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 11+ years of relevant experience.

Mandatory Skills:

Managed overall Testing engagements for manual and automation teams.

Defined Test Strategy covering all testing phases, including Functional Testing, Automation Testing, Performance Testing, PEN Testing, and Accessibility Testing.

Proficient in creating and reviewing Test plans, daily update reports, closure reports, worked on Productivity improvement, and testing-related metrics.

Mentored and developed Test leads and Senior Test Analysts, managed testing-related RAIDs, set up testing on tools like Jira or ADO.
