Job Description:
The General Manager position is a senior level positionrequiring interaction with individual innovators, start-ups, SMEs,academic institutions, research organizations and GovernmentDepartments / Ministries / Agencies to identify their inventions,protecting intellectual property rights emerging from SPIL inventions andmanage IPR, provide support for proof of concept, scale up / prototypingand helping technology transfer of such innovations for commercialproduction.
The General Manager is expected to develop business modelsto enhance revenue earning of SPIL.KEY SKILLS Go getter & Out of box thinker
Identify and understand the intellectual property –patents and itsapplicationExplore the application of those patients, IP within and outside thecompanyIdentify the applications across range of industry, productsDevelop product offeringDevelop a business case from patents and intellectual capitalMake and Market productsExplore collaborative possibilities for revenue generation from thosepatient'sLicense, ProductRevenue profits and growth from New Product, Licensing of Patents etcJOB DESCRIPTION Sell online information products and software, primarily in intellectualproperty, brand establishing and protection products, in a consultativesales environment to CXOs, Executive Directors, Management teams, R&DLeaders, Intellectual Property, Strategy and other functions with identifiedaccounts.
Achieve new business sales and current revenue retention targets and focuson retention productsDevise and implement strategies to develop the defined accounts andgenerate new salesPromote and sell our products to identified accounts - this involves sitevisits, preparing written proposals, explaining, positioning anddemonstrating products, phone and email contacts, as well as exhibitactivities.
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts as required, including salespipeline.Develop thorough knowledge of client's needs; understand customerworkflows and what is important to their business.
Functional:
Practical Prior experience in handling Patent, Trade Marks, Copyright, patentportfolio management and Design Laws.
Hands on experience of working in an educational institution in the IPM teamAbility to work in a fast-paced, demanding, timeline-driven environment Innovativeand creative mindset.
Experience of managing contracts with external parties.An ability to work effectively with an internal and external of stakeholders.
Possesses excellent science communication, organization, management, andadministrative skills.
Behavioural:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to work and perform within a disciplinary and cross disciplinary team.
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time withattention to detail.
Education Qualification
Post graduate in science or Graduate in Engineering along with MBA (sales &Marketing) / Masters in Law with specialization in Intellectual Property LawsPatents Act, 1970 and the Patent Rules, 2003 and is updated till 2017Well versed with Trade Marks, Copyright, Patent and Design Laws andoperational requirements.
Experience of Selling Legal Services / Copyright / Patent / Trademark ServicesFamiliarity with navigating multiple levels of a client organization in order to
Establish contact with key decision makersA team player who is independent and takes initiative in ensuring resultsDemonstrable experience of deploying customer driven approach and goodcustomer management skillsAbility to effectively identify new opportunities, negotiate, generate anddefend business revenue.
