Job summary

The " Principal Java Developer"

is responsible for supporting, developing and enhancing NXP's enterprise application for Product Requirements and Test Management.

The candidate should have experience in application development and support, have excellent problem solving skills and able to work independently with a business focused mindset.


This position is based out of Bangalore, India and offers the opportunity to work in a globally distributed team where the candidate will get a unique opportunity of personal development in a multi-cultural environment.

Primary responsibilities:


Lead (technically) the development team in designing and developing utilities and interfaces to enhance business workflowWork with business stakeholders to align on solution designIdentifying & analyzing problems and define structural solutions for the application and its integrationsAnalyze solution alternatives and advice on impact, costs and priorityCreate technical solution designs for changes/projects and new functionalityDefine/comply to industry standard best practice guidelines for development activities, like code review, standards, documentation.

Continually seeking methods to improve the application and supporting processes


Job qualificationsDegree in Computer Science and relevant work experience of 8-10 years or moreExcellent analytical, problem-solving and logical thinking skillsExcellent English communication skills, both oral and writtenIBM ELM application knowledge (EWM, ETM, ERM, etc.) is a MUSTProven experience in guiding & coaching developers in their daily workProven experience in developing OSLC based applications and interfaces with IBM applications.

Proficient in Java, JavaScript programmingProficiency with python is a plusFamiliarity with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or JavaServer Faces (JSF)Proven experience with REST APIs and web servicesKnowledge on Microservices architecture is a big plusKnowledge of databases (preferably Oracle) and SQLProven experience leading teams in developing OSLC based applications and interfaces with IBM applications.

Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) conceptsUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, implementation, code and design reviews.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient codeExperience with Agile software development methodologiesExperience with customer-oriented support, being pro-active and supportive, helping teams and colleagues before being asked, making issues known before they become criticalUsed to working in an international environment
