Solving this customer problem is why we're actively looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Recommendations, to drive further innovation in the channel and content recommendations.
About the role
The person in this role will leverage their technical skills, business intuition, and analytical thinking to build best-of-class Machine Learning products.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for building and owning the next generation of content recommendations and other algorithms/systems that will make the experience for our many millions of Roku users 100% personalized and unique.
We're excited if you have
5+ years of experience building large-scale software solutions to concrete problemsStrong CS fundamentals.
Should be able to write an algorithm with easeYou are fluent in one of the high-level programming languages like Java, Scala, Kotlin or PythonWe'd love to see that you've worked with big data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink, S3, AirFlow)Expert in data storing solutions.
Able to choose between various products like MySQL, DynamoDB, Elastic, Redis, you name it...Have experience with ETL pipelines, both streaming and batchGood understanding of system architecture.
Plus, if you have worked with microservices and know their cons and prosYou practice and advocate for clean code and automated testingBachelor's in computer science or a related field.
