Oracle is currently seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to assist in building our next generation microservices oriented insurance software platform. We are developing and integrating new and existing cloud-based software products for both Oracle and non-Oracle cloud platforms. The applications are web-based multi-component multi-tiered multi-service client-server Insurance applications.
This position is for an experienced and productive java cloud services developer. Expertise and experience developing RESTful microservices components is required. The candidate should be well versed in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and using cloud technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Java, Javascript, and JEE Microprofile app servers like Helidon and TomEE, are also required. This individual should be highly organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently, as well as work with project managers and peers to understand requirements, document designs, and build and unit test software components.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the overall technical direction in the development of enterprise applications running on a cloud platform. Ensure the ongoing upgrade and upkeep of cloud software designs by applying industry standards and best practices. Learn and incorporate the best available Oracle and Oracle approved technologies into application architecture. Design, develop, and maintain software modules for service APIs. Unit testing, integration testing. Verify, test, and help find resolutions to issues reported by customers and internally. Write clear, concise and thorough design documents. Contribute to the resolution of defects and enhancement requests Perform other work-related responsibilities as assigned by managementRequired Skills:
Minimum 8 years of experience as a software developer delivering large-scale, highly-available enterprise-wide applications Minimum 8 years of experience and hands-on knowledge of JEE, XML Minimum 5 years of experience and hands-on knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, Microservices, Spring, Hibernate Spring boot, Helidon and Kafka Minimum 5 years of experience developing apps for cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) Minimum 5 years combined experience with TomEE, WebLogic, or WebSphere Minimum 5 years of experience working with Docker and Kubernetes Experience working with CI/CD pipelines Experience working with distributed caching technologies like Reddis Experience working with database technologies – OracleDB, MySQL, ORM, TopLink/EclipseLink Experience working on Linux OSs Experience following agile software development methodologies and life cycles Highly motivated, high energy individual with a strong commitment to quality Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal directionDesired Skills:
