We are looking for Software Development Engineers to join our Kindle team.

We recently launched Amazon First Kindle Scribe, a larger form factor device that now unlocks reading, Note taking and handwriting recognition.

Join and be part of team which is working on programs involving Handwriting recognition, text processing, developing and integrating GenAI/LLM solutions.

Involve in SW design, building a scalable, reliable system for handling requests from millions of devices, on demand notes/strokes conversion, data processing, emailing and content search etc.

We are part of the Amazon devices group.

Our team build end to end solution for E-reader customers enabling ease of use, Out of box setup experience, Kindle platform for new devices, writing and handwriting recognition application software.

Our focus is to innovate and build on behalf of our customers.

As a key member, you will be part of end to end software development team, which includes developing backend services, REST APIs, on device software and user experience/Front end.

Will own business critical deliverables and will be immersed in all aspects of the development cycle:
scoping, design, coding and testing using an agile process.

Will interact with Tier-1 services and will actively collaborate with these service owners to define and deliver changes necessary to achieve your business objectives.

Then join usKey job responsibilities- Collaborate with product managers, designers to understand, refine the scope, dive deep for impact analysis.- Develop an SW design that is scalable, maintainable, thinking long term needs and build services on AWS services.- Design, develop the infrastructure for the new services.- Mentor, grow and share the journey to deliver with high quality bar.- Data driven approach for making right architecture decisions, managing business priorities.- Need to solve problems that span a variety of domains, e.g.

device software, services as well as full automation.

Write performant, secure and optimised code.- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.- Technical go to person, providing guidance to team design and code reviews.

Along the way you'll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.- You are proficient in solving problem with limitations, handling complexities and programming.- Collaborate with experienced Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative components in E-reader- Architect and design a secure software that protects customer data stored on cloud and devices.- Build a full product, software and service development experience.- You will be contacted by many Amazonians as they deploy their software for E-reader.- You will also be a senior engineer guiding junior members in this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of noninternship professional software development experience 2+ years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Hands on design, coding experience in Java, REST API, C++ including objectoriented programming. Experience using AWS infra, service and tools. Contributing to the architecture and design (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Knowledge of software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes
