Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of diesel engines and hydraulic systems to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure the optimal performance of machinery.
  • Disassemble and reassemble engines and hydraulic components for repairs or replacements, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Repair and replace faulty parts, such as pumps, valves, pistons, hoses, and gaskets, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Operate specialized diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic problems.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and schedule repair tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and job details.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Assist in training junior mechanics or technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve team performance.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss equipment status, maintenance schedules, and potential improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and other departments to provide updates on repair progress and equipment availability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training in diesel mechanics or hydraulic systems is preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a diesel or hydraulic mechanic with a solid understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems in heavy machinery, trucks, or similar equipment
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • Familiarity with technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for equipment repairs.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a mechanical workshop environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed to convey information clearly to team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Adaptability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate vehicles and equipment when required.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous.
