POSITION:
CCTV Technician


As a CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) Technician, he will responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing CCTV systems within commercial, and industrial settings.

Their role is vital in ensuring security and safety for the office and resources.

The duties and responsibilities of a CCTV Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Consultation and assessment: Assess the needs and recommend suitable CCTV systems based on their requirements, budget, and the layout of the premises.
  • System design: Design CCTV systems tailored to office needs, considering factors like camera placement, wiring, and network setup to ensure maximum coverage and efficiency.
  • Installation: Install CCTV cameras, recording systems, monitors, and other related equipment according to the system design, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Configuration and programming: Set up and configure CCTV systems, including adjusting camera settings, programming recording schedules, and configuring remote access.
  • Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose any technical issues that may arise with the CCTV system and carry out necessary repairs or replace faulty components.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning camera lenses, checking connections and wiring, and inspecting equipment for wear and tear.
  • System upgrades: Assess existing systems and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance performance or meet Offices' changing needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system installations, configurations, and maintenance activities for future reference and warranty purposes.
  • Training: Provide training to Office In-Charges on the proper use of their CCTV systems, including basic operations, troubleshooting, and software usage.
  • Compliance: Ensure that installations and maintenance procedures adhere to relevant local and national regulations, safety codes, and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, security personnel, or third parties to ensure seamless integration of CCTV systems with other security components and IT Systems.
  • Continual learning: Stay updated with advancements in CCTV technology, trends, and best practices to improve job performance and provide the best solutions to clients.

Technical Competencies - Essential

  • Demonstrate at least 3 years previous experience in CCTV and Security Systems.
  • Demonstrate a general knowledge of all Security Systems.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy and timeliness of submission of same.
  • Diploma / Graduation in IT Systems / CCTV / Security Systems

Technical Competencies - Desirable

  • Knowledge of any of the following Intruder Alarms, Access control, CCTV and Intercom using a range of equipment including: Paxton, Honeywell, Texecom, Bosch, Hikvision.
  • Manufacturers training for any of the following: Paxton, Honeywell, Texecom, Bosch, Hikvision.
  • Knowledge of IP Systems / Networking is preferable
