Job Title: Coating Quality Control
Job Overview:
A Coating Quality Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality of protective coatings applied to surfaces in various industrial settings. This role involves ensuring that coatings meet specified standards and project requirements, performing inspections, conducting tests, and documenting findings. The specialist works closely with production teams, contractors, and project managers to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
*Quality Assurance and Compliance:*
Ensure that all coating activities adhere to industry standards, such as NACE, SSPC, ISO, and project-specific requirements.
Review project specifications and provide guidance on quality control procedures.
*Inspection and Testing:*
Perform inspections of surface preparation and coating application to verify compliance with standards.
Conduct a variety of tests to assess coating thickness, adhesion, hardness, and other relevant properties.
Utilize specialized equipment and tools for testing (e.g., thickness gauges, adhesion testers, gloss meters).
*Documentation and Reporting:*
Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and findings.
Prepare comprehensive quality control reports, highlighting any deviations or non-conformities.
Document corrective actions taken to address quality issues.
*Process Improvement:*
Identify areas for improvement in coating processes and recommend solutions.
