About us:

Blitz is a company focused on Instant Logistics in Southeast Asia with a speciality in delivering orders using EV bikes. The company was established in 2021 and plays a big role in the EV bike sector by not only providing quick deliveries but also offering financing options for the bikes to drivers on lease. This additional revenue stream adds to the business beyond just delivery charges. Blitz is at the forefront of revolutionizing instant coordination through cutting-edge technology solutions. They are product-oriented and leverage modern technologies to develop products that address challenges in EV-based Logistics. By harnessing data from EV bikes via IoT and smart engines, Blitz makes data-driven decisions to enhance the consumer experience.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and managing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our data-focused projects. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in software engineering, database management, and data architecture, coupled with a zeal for constructing durable and efficient data systems.

What you will do:

  • Design, construct, and manage scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data efficiently.
  • Collaborate with different teams to grasp data needs and devise solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Enhance data processing and storage solutions to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Establish data quality standards and validation procedures to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to detect and address issues promptly.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering to propose innovative ideas for enhancing our data framework.
  • Document data pipelines, workflows, and infrastructure to enable knowledge sharing and ensure sustainability.
  • Create Data Dashboards to visualize diverse data requirements from the datasets.

What we need:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, showcasing expertise in building and managing data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Thorough understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, BigQuery) and data warehousing principles.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics concepts.
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools.
  • Certifications in pertinent technologies such as AWS Certified Big Data Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer.
