MiddleYears Programme Coordinator (MYPC) is a pedagogical leader responsible for implementation, leading, and evaluation of the Middle Years Programme at Shiv Nadar School. As a member of the Pedagogical Leadership team, he/she would work collaboratively with the curriculum team, other program coordinators, and support staff (such as well-being, differentiated learning needs, AHA coordinators, and others) to support students and teachers in the MYP. MYPC should continually endeavour to ensure high quality of implementation and development of the Middle Years Programme and would act as a primary point of communication between the schooland IB.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (IB Standards and Practices referenced)

PURPOSE

To ensure that meaningful and purposeful connections are made between the IB mission and philosophy and the school mission, vision and strategy, that reflect on learning

To support the school leadership team in developing the school's mission,vision, and strategy,especially with relation to grades

To develop, in collaboration with other coordinators, key pedagogical elements of the IB programmes - Approaches to Learning, Approaches to Teaching, IB Learner Profile, and International Mindedness and

To communicate the passion and understanding of the IB mission and philosophy with a purposeful emphasis on both international mindedness and the learner profile, in alignment with the school mission,vision and strategy and

To provide pedagogical leadership across the school,especially to the Middle Years Programme

ENVIRONMENT

To follow all IB rules, regulations and guidelines, supporting programme implementation and ongoing development

To bring the school community on board to put in place structures and processes to ensure compliance with the IB mandates and requirements, as published in the programme standards and practices and other IB documentation

To implement and reviewa broad, balancedand connected curriculum in the MYP following the required documentation

To implement a schedulethat allows for the IB requirements to be met, providing a reasonable varietyof subjects to the students

To organize and conduct student orientations and PY-MYP transition program ("MYP LaunchPad") and

Oversees together with the Diploma ProgrammeCoordinator MYP to DP transition

To ensure that the school has systems and processes in place to document, share and store curriculum, policies and procedures that safeguard the programme implementation

To administer the school LMS with respect to the MYP to ensure documenting, sharing and storing curriculum, policies, procedures, as well as student data (including assessment data) and reportsas well as to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

With support of the departments, maintain documentation of various aspects of the Middle Years Programme including but not limited to student data, minutes of the collaborative planning and reflection, changes and development in the implementation of the programme, professional development records of the teachers etc., ensuring that the quality,operation and sustainability of the programme is informed by the captureddata and

To organize and conduct parent orientations, parent information sessions and parent-teacher meetings, maintaining communications with parents, legal guardians and wider communityregarding the school program, policies, student achievement, academic progress and any other matterthan impacts the student's learning and well-being

To keep the governing body informed aboutthe required resources such that adequate funds are allocated to implement the programme and meet the ongoing needs for the sustainability and further development of the programme

To distribute leadership opportunities within the IB team for effective implementation and development of the programme, through the designation of XXXXXXXX

To ensure all the teachers have access to programme documentation, relevant programme communities and the IB frameworks via the Programme Resource Center on MyIB and they use current and relevant IB resources, and are promptly updated with the changes in thecurriculum or MYP

To ensure all teachers are suitably qualified and participate in appropriate and timely professional learning in accordance with the IBO requirements

To provide time and appropriate resources for the teachers to collaborate effectively, conduct regular vertical and horizontal confluences, helping the team to plan and reflect on their practices

To induct the new teachers on IB pedagogy and assessment

To collaborate with other program coordinators (within school, within the organisation, and outside of the organisation) on regular basis

To coordinate with Special Educators, College Counsellors and Well-being Counsellors in order to identify the learning needs, remove barriers to learning of individual students, foster social,emotional and physicalwell-being of students,provide support to plan for next stage of their educational experiences, ensuring overall positive impact on the students' learning and well-being , ,

To collaborate with the People and Culture team to ensure suitable recruitment of the IB teachers with relevant profiles

To coordinate the planning, implementation and monitoring of programme development initiatives for 5-yearevaluation

To monitor implementation of the core elements of the MYP

CULTURE

Lead the development and/or revision of the IB mandated policies with relationto the MYP (0301)

To implement, communicate and review effectiveschool policies to embed IB philosophy and culture - Admissions, Assessment, Academic integrity, Inclusion, and Language Policies, in line with the IB guidelines (0301)

To lead the periodical review of the MYP assessment policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with access arrangements

To ensure that all students read, are aware of and adhere to Shiv Nadar School Code of Conduct and Shiv Nadar School Policies(0301)

To collaborate with the Admissions Team,putting in placestructures and processes to provide access to a broad rangeof students

LEARNING

To oversee the designing, planning, delivering, and review of a coherent curriculum in the Middle Years Programme, articulating the aims and objectives of the programme documentation and subject guides, ensuring the delivery of high quality approaches to teachingand learning, including MYP Core

To oversee the development of subject group overviews

To develop, in collaboration with teachers an approaches to learning planning chart in accordance with programme documentation

To lead and oversee,together with headsof the departments, the planningand design units that meet programme requirements and are in accordance with programme documentation and

To lead and oversee, together- with heads of the departments, the planning process to collaboratively design,plan, deliver and document student inquiry

To lead the process of regular revision of the school curriculum and

Communicates the curriculum to all stakeholders in the school community and

To monitor and support teachers in the use of inquiry for learning

To monitor and support teachers in the use of conceptual understanding for learning

To monitor and support teachers in the use of global and local contexts for learning

To develop a culture of trust, healthyrelationships and purposeful collaboration between teachers and students, creating a positive and dynamic learning community

ASSESSMENT

To ensure that all students are registered for the IB examinations (eAssessment) within the given timelines, with appropriate inclusive access arrangements requested as per the need

To ensure that Predicted grades for MYP on-screen examinations are communicated in an appropriate manner

To ensure completion and submission of all internal and external assessments, following school internal deadlines, and in strict adherence to Academic Integrity and Assessment Policy

To read and be aware of all IB documentation related to exams and assessments published in Assessment Procedures and Conduct of Exam Handbook

To administer the IB examinations in strict adherence to the IB Academic Integrity Policy and communicate with IB as needed to seek advice on any possible irregularities such as rescheduling, non-exam contingency etc.

To develop a database of the in-school assessment data, conduct student reflection sessions, analyze the results and plan the way forward(0404)

To support students with distribution of results, Request for Results services, Enquiry Upon Results services, appeals and any other documentation and transcript needs for Visa application and University requirements after the release of the results
