The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. Purpose of the role

Responsibilities require the incumbent to possess functional expertise in manufacturing plant engineering along with customer relationship skills to virtually lead projects which assess, solve, and improve plant productivity and optimize manufacturing costs by leveraging Reliability, Controls and Systems Engineering. The person needs to identify and develop new capabilities in the team and also should pursue for enhanced work scope in case of existing plant engagements.

Key Accountabilities

50% - For POC (Platform / Units / Technologies)

Lead platform engagement independently for multiple plants

Develop knowledge base on platform processes, systems, and technologies.

Cross-deploy learnings in the platform.

Engage and manage platform stakeholder relations.

Ideate/Lead/Facilitate platform improvement projects/ZLC initiatives and ensures implementation.

Explore opportunities for continuous ES engagement with platform plants.

Own and deliver PMA/project work as per the timelines and with required quality levels.

Delegate tasks to PMA support team and maintain healthy work pipeline.

Define maintenance strategy for the plant and facilitate implementation.

Manage and lead capital project and early equipment management support work.

Engage and manage capital spare part related work with 3P's.

Analyze historic data, identify measures and recommend solutions for operation and maintenance Practices.

Technology and Equipment selection with detailed engineering

Support FAT and SAT

Support equipment audit/health check.

50% - Reliability Engineering:

Develop maintenance plans: apply technology knowledge such as Lubrication, Fasteners, Hydraulics as well as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.

Identify essential spare parts to be stocked to bring down repair time at lowest inventory cost.

Demonstrate impact of work delivered on equipment uptime and maintenance cost.

Analyze and engage to optimize storeroom inventory cost sustainably.

25% - Lead and Execute Technical Initiatives/Projects : ( Eg: Breakdown Elimination, RCM, technical problem solving, technical capability building etc)

Technical Initiatives/Projects

Lead productivity/capacity debottlenecking/unlocking projects by providing technical solutions/inputs.

Define maintenance strategy for the plant and facilitate implementation.

Engineering Inventory Management- Develop strategy and identify critical spares and propose min-max stock level while optimizing costs.

Technical Problem Solving

Lead Breakdown Elimination by providing solutions for repetitive/chronic/sporadic problems.

Lead and deliver FMEA's for critical problems /equipment's and propose/implement technical solutions.

Conduct/Lead machine health checks and recommend corrective actions.

Perform remote equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Technical Capability Building

Involve/guide/facilitate Engineers in technical problem solving.

Involve team members in technical initiatives.

Identify and organize/conduct technical trainings for the team.

20% - Perform as a Subject Matter Expert

Coach and mentor other engineers on the team as well as plant employees.

Work effectively in a cross-cultural virtual team using influence and collaboration.

Create, maintain, and adhere to process documentation and strive for continuous improvement.

Take self-initiative to learn about GMI systems, processes, technologies, and Supply Chain. -

Perform other duties as assigned.

5% - Lead with Safety.

Minimum Qualification

Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)

Minimum Degree Requirements : Bachelors

Preferred Major Area of Study : B. Tech /M. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Work experience : 7 Years

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Degree Requirements : Masters

Preferred Major Area of Study : B. Tech /M. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Professional Six Sigma and (or) PMP, CRE, CMRP Certifications :

Preferred years of related experience : 10 years

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed

7+ years of work experience with demonstrated project and people leadership skills.

Working knowledge in mechanical maintenance of processing, mixing, and packaging equipment's.

Hands on experience in implementing FMEA's, RCM, troubleshooting measures, Breakdown/WPF root cause analysis and Engineering spares management.

Hands on experience Capital Projects Various Phases, Early Equipment Management, Plant/Operations Continuous Improvement, and Maintenance Program development.

Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines.

Additional Information

This position reports to the Engineering Management with the Supply Chain Division. Hours of operation are 11 AM to 8 PM Mumbai time (Monday to Friday) with the ability to flex hours as the job demands.

In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with Organizations' employees at all levels across the company locations.

The Job involves travel to worldwide plants on short term basis depending on business requirements.
