Job Description

  • Senior SQL Developer As a Senior SQL Developer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and supporting Platform applications. You'll be working closely with a diverse team including .Net developers, SQL developers, QA, and product management teams.
  • Specific Job Skills and Experience:
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience; or a mix of education and experience
  • Proficiency in the full software development life cycle, covering design, testing, deployment, and documentation activities (including agile and scrum practices)
  • Advanced SQL development skills, such as in-depth understanding of data modeling best practices, normalization techniques, and database design patterns. Also, proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Experience with SQL BI stack or SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS. Knowledge in source controls like GitHub and Bitbucket. Familiarity with scripting/programming languages like PowerShell, Bash, and Python. High knowledge of Windows Server and WSFC with an understanding of HA and DR management, performance troubleshooting, and connectivity. Extensive experience with PowerShell for management and automation in SQL Server environments. Performance tuning complex queries, query optimization, developing Dynamic SQL, stored procedures, using indexes to speed up queries, and creating database schemas supporting business processes. Expertise in designing and developing objects and components of relational and non-relational databases. Experience with MSDTC and MSMQ. Knowledge of developing ERDs - both physical and logical.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC, with a strong preference for Agile experience.
  • Ability to write reusable functions, views, and database objects.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Outstanding collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable applications. Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns.
  • Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in defining, documenting, and developing software and software applications. Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions, code reviews, and technical specifications with the project team. Independently handle development, enhancement, testing, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications supporting business units. Generate comprehensive, professional project documentation and technical specifications. Evaluate the impact of software changes and new developments on other systems; conduct integration tests to minimize risks. Mentor junior team members and promote a knowledge-sharing environment.
