Responsible for leading engineering of software quality for an enterprise level product development in a highly regulated environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Serve as a Lead test designer and contributor to software quality in the context of a fast paced, Agile development process.


Review Product Requirement documents and Engineering Functional Specifications, define test strategy, and scope test effort as part of regular planning cycle.

Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex test automation programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.

Ensure tests and results are documented, reported to stakeholders and are available for specification of user instructions. Highlights issues and risks identified during testing to business stakeholders.

Provides specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues and users to ensure that tests are conducted in an appropriate manner.


Assist in setting the direction, process, and general test methodology for parallel development of the software and automated test suite.

Work with the software engineering team to resolve issues arising in the test process.


Assist in develop and maintain innovative, repeatable test plans based on functional requirements, use cases, user interface designs, system design documents and domain knowledge.


Work with Quality Engineering team members, software developers and system and database administrators to trouble-shoot test failures in the various test environments.

This may include troubleshooting database issues using SQL queries, reviewing web server and application server logs, etc.


Conducts peer reviews of test cases, review work of less experienced team members and guide and train them on tools and processes.

Provides advice and guidance to support adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Adapt processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools. Reviews and improves usage and application of methods and tools.

Strong analytics and problem-solving capabilities and ability to adjust to changing priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:
Minimum of 7 year of experience in the field of software quality engineering.

Experience in an Agile development environment using methodologies like SCRUM, SAFe or equivalent.

Familiarity with DevOps practice and Cloud based software solutions.

Experienced with leading and mentoring teams of test engineers.

Experienced in working directly with Quality Engineering management, Software Development management and Product Management.


Knowledge in the software development lifecycle, practices and scripting languages such as Javascript, Ruby, Python, etc., as well as SQL.

Experienced with testing web, API, desktop apps and/or mobile phone applications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English.

Knowledgeable in software testing techniques (Functional, Integration, System, Regression).

Experienced with test management tools for requirement, test case and defect tracking. Specific experience with Polarion is a plus.

Experienced with software test automation and best practices. Experience with Katalon is a plus.

Travel requirements for this position:
None to Low

Knowledge of FDA Regulations surrounding 21 CFR Part 11 and cGxP is a plus
