Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer


As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our infrastructure and deployment processes.

You will be responsible for leading a team of DevOps engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement in our DevOps practices.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Lead DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Azure and Terraform.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing infrastructure on Azure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
  • Indepth knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience implementing pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub or GitLab.
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with the Hashicorp stack beyond Terraform, ie: Vault and Consul
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and tooling, Python preferred since the whole stack is a Python stack.
  • Handson experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, DataDog or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments and experience implementing security controls.
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Administrator).
  • Experience with other cloud platforms and multicloud environments.
  • Familiarity with alternative IaC frameworks (ARM templates, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) for infrastructure management.
  • Experience with serverless computing platforms (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda).
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with a strong focus on Terraform.
  • Collaborate with software development team to define and implement CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of our applications and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the DevOps and cloud space.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the software development lifecycle and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Actively participate in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members, provide feedback, and support their professional growth.
