We are in search of a Vice President of Geospatial who will directly report to the Chief Technology Officer. This crucial position involves overseeing project management, executing tasks effectively, and spearheading strategic initiatives to accomplish our organizational objectives.

The Vice President of Geospatial will take the lead in formulating and executing geospatial strategies, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and developing solutions to foster business growth and drive innovation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Geospatial Strategy: Develop and implement a geospatial strategy that aligns with company objectives and industry trends. Explore opportunities for enhancing current offerings and creating innovative solutions using geospatial data.
  • Product Development: Supervise the creation of geospatial products/services, ensuring adherence to quality standards and client requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and work closely with product managers for enhancements.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Engage with the AI/ML team to combine geospatial data with algorithms, accelerating prototype development. Foster interdisciplinary cooperation for efficient product advancement.
  • Project Management: Oversee end-to-end management of geospatial projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints and in compliance with quality standards. Promote cross-functional collaboration to align project objectives with business needs.
  • Technical Excellence: Possess a deep understanding of geospatial technologies, including GIS software, spatial analysis, and remote sensing. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices to drive continuous enhancements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the geospatial technology team, which includes Geospatial Analysts, GIS specialists, developers, and engineers. Offer guidance, mentorship, and encouragement to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Team Development: Invest in the professional growth of the geospatial technology team by providing training opportunities and mentorship to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Technology Innovation: Keep updated on emerging geospatial technologies, trends, and methodologies. Evaluate new tools and approaches to enhance the company's geospatial capabilities for a competitive edge.
  • Client Engagement: Interact with clients to understand their geospatial requirements. Tailor solutions to address challenges and deliver value. Cultivate client relationships to drive business expansion.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, technology providers, and academic institutions to elevate the company's geospatial capabilities and expand its market presence.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated track record (8+ years) in geospatial technology, emphasizing leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficiency in GIS/RS software such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Erdas Imagine, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, and programming languages like Python and SQL.
  • Strong technical expertise in spatial analysis, geostatistical analysis, and geospatial data management.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and integrating geospatial data with machine learning algorithms.
  • Proven proficiency in Earth Observation data across diverse domains and contemporary geospatial data formats and management principles.
  • Experience in leading geospatial projects from inception to execution, preferably in sectors like Agriculture, Urban Planning, Environmental Management, Logistics, or Telecommunications.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common objectives.
  • Strategic mindset with a history of driving innovation, business growth, and client satisfaction through geospatial solutions.
  • Competence in project management methodologies and business development.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols related to geospatial data governance, privacy, and security.
