Thermax expands its business in the renewable spaceThe fight against the biggest existential threat that is 'climate change' can be addressed if industries adopt clean energy and transition to more sustainable manufacturing practices.
Fostering our presence in the renewable energy segment, Thermax's group company, First Energy Private Limited (FEPL), is uniquely placed to help its customers in their energy transition journey.
With this new infrastructure being set, Thermax will be diversifying its sustainable offerings with solar hybrid farms and storage batteries, catering to customers in the commercial and industrial space.
FEPL will partner with large and small industries that want to transition to clean energy and help them navigate their energy switch journey over a long period with customised off-grid solutions.
The company will enter into long-term contracts with its customers backed with significant investments in building the power infrastructure.Being a group company of Thermax, which carries over five decades of experience in the energy domain, FEPL commands an edge in understanding the unique energy matrix and designing a custom-made solution to suit different industries, applications, and energy management goals.

Knowledge of intra-state open access policies and regulations, especially captives and group captives2. Working knowledge of CERC Connectivity and GNA regulations 2022, for interstate sale and purchase of power3. Computation of landed cost of electricity under Intra-state and inter-state open access transactions4. Ability to do policy analysis of open access market in key states5. Knowledge of ISTS project development and regulations/policy framework applicable6.
Preferable to have prior experience of working with nodal agencies (such as MNRE, MoP, state energy development authorities, solar and wind associations)7.
Tracking of state and central level tariff notifications (Multi Year Tariff frameworks, ARR and Tariff order filings) 8. Working knowledge of rooftop solar markets (regulations, business models such as capex/opex)Qualification - Energy studies – any field
Competencies / Key Skills Required -1. Research competencies including writing skills for regulatory submissions to nodal agencies2. Strong technical and analytical skills3. Strong written and oral communication skills especially customer interactions and technical report writing skills4.
Passion for working in an open, sharing, and constructive environment where colleagues' welcome opportunities to assist each other, respect others' opinions while solving challenging technical problems5.
Willingness to travel (10-25% is typical)Experience - 6 – 8 years
