Responsibilities :

  • Perform routine system administration tasks on Unix servers (e.g., user management, disk space management, file system permissions).
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications.
  • Apply security patches and updates to ensure system stability and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell).
  • Assist senior system administrators with more complex tasks (L1.5).
  • Document procedures and maintain clear technical records.
  • Respond to user requests related to Unix systems in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior administrators as necessary.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in a Unix system administration role (L1) or 2+ years (L1.5).
  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals (file system navigation, basic commands, user management).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell) preferred (L1.5).
  • Working knowledge of system administration concepts like security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing environments.
