Job Summary:


The Discipline Officer is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a safe and orderly school environment by enforcing disciplinary policies and procedures.

This role involves working closely with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to address behavioral issues, promote positive conduct, and ensure compliance with school rules and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce school rules and regulations regarding student behavior, attendance, and academic integrity, promoting a culture of respect, responsibility, and accountability among students.
  • Monitor student conduct within the school premises, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other common areas, to ensure compliance with behavioral expectations.
  • Respond promptly to incidents of misconduct, bullying, harassment, vandalism, or other disruptive behavior, conducting thorough investigations and documenting relevant information.
  • Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address individual student needs, develop behavior intervention plans, and provide appropriate support and guidance.
  • Meet with students and parents to discuss disciplinary issues, explain consequences for misconduct, and facilitate conflict resolution or mediation sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team to develop and implement disciplinary policies, procedures, and preventive strategies, adapting them to meet the evolving needs of the school community.
  • Maintain accurate records of disciplinary incidents, interventions, and outcomes using designated tracking systems or databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on disciplinary protocols, crisis management techniques, and deescalation strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Serve as a resource for students, parents, and staff members seeking information or assistance regarding disciplinary matters, offering guidance, referrals, and support services as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a role related to student discipline.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, behavior modification techniques, and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and make fair and consistent decisions in challenging situations.
  • Minimum 5yrs exp required.
