Colorist

The position is responsible for supporting Color approval work in Lab Dip/ Strike Off/ 1st Bulk/ Shade Band.He/she needs to work closely with internal partners- such as HK Color Team/ Raw Material Sourcing/ Sourcing team, external partner and fabric suppliers.

Job Description:

• Authority to review color submissions
• Operate Data Color Spectrophotometer (DC800/ DC1000) to take Spectro reading for single solid color
• Operate Data Color Spectra Vision to take Spectro reading for multi-color print submission.
• Understand Company expectation of color approval tolerance
• Coach Vendor Mill Colorist to perform and achieve company's expectation.
• Provide guidance/ training to suppliers and mills to ensure they follow SOP and achieve color requirements.
• Partner with Sourcing and Senior Colorists to problem solve when color issues arise
• Understand and maintain color filing system, including submissions, strike offs, bulk production records.
• Release color comment in system within specified timelines for development and bulk
• Dispatch approval record to HK office or satellite offices
• Monitor mills self-approval production colors. Provide audit report to Color Manager

Job Specification:

• University Graduate with major in Textile Technology or Textile Chemistry is preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience approving colour
• Solid technical knowledge on dyeing and print processing,print technique and limitation
• Experience in fabric mills and well-know the production procedures
• Well-organized, systematic, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must pass Munsell Hue 100 Eye test: point 8 or below
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced)
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English
• Willing to travel alone
