Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of Kimball and Inmon approaches and the core differences
  • Experience in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models
  • Extensively used Star Schema methodologies in building & designing logical models.
  • Ability to translate a logical model into a physical model (reverse engineering), adding appropriate physical objects needed to create the database
  • Create/expand the existing Star Schema especially building Facts, Dimension, slowly changing dimension ( Type 1,2,3).
  • Strong Understanding and implementation experience on a grain of facts, factless facts, type of facts, and fact table types.
  • Strong Understanding and implementation experience in Dimensions, denormalization of Dimensions ( Snowflake to Star), Confirmed dims, Roleplaying dims, Outriggers, and mini dimensions.
  • Strong Understanding and implementation experience in ER modeling.
  • Build aggregates on top of facts to meet performance SLAs.
  • Handson experience in SQL DBM tool, and Snowflake database.
