Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sales System Information System Specialist in our Informational Technology Team.

The Sales System Information System Specialist will enable Caterpillar deliver value to the bottom line through transforming its world-wide Order Management capabilities for machine sales and distribution by applying modern technologies, including generative AI, to create an agile order management platform. You will provide expertise in application development, technical knowledge, and process expertise to solve business challenges and achieve profitable business strategies leveraging Caterpillar's global footprint. You will leverage a combination of technologies including SAP, Salesforce, AWS, and snowflake. This role is within the Resource Industries - IT, Order Fulfilment and Procurement Division of Caterpillar IT.

Products within this portfolio include corporate applications for enabling world-wide Order Management for machine sales and global Sales & Operations Planning capabilities.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India

What you will do

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Lead major business case analysis efforts and multi-generational product planning. Drive solution delivery across the enterprise. Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization. Work directly on complex application and technical problems, leading identification and resolution activities, including periodically responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development prioritized by business value. Provide project leadership to process partners, management, vendors, customers, and project teams on the most complex aspect of process development, system integration, and development methods. Develop process changes and repeatable solutions. Provide case management support for highly escalated business process related issues. Perform other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Candidates will have:

Four-year bachelor's degree preferably in marketing, communications, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field. 10+ years of relevant job-related IT experience. 8+ years of experience in designing and developing software applications and data modeling. 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Python architecture, design, development, support and with modern integration architecture. 3+ years of experience in AWS architecture, development design and support. Demonstrated capability to lead medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities across multiple teams. Demonstrated knowledge of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and AI. Strong passion and hands-on technical experience with the ability to deliver rapid proof of concept implementations and ability to Create of technical artifacts implement personas, journey maps, storyboards, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience in using and applying AI technologies to production processes. Experience in multiple business processes or organizations and experience in multiple IT disciplines. Knowledge and experience in SAP, AWS, Salesforce. Kowledge and familiarity of development platforms, integration platforms, and architecture patterns Knowledge or experience with SAP VC or other complex manufacturing configuration platforms Strong skills of accountability, planning, organization, teamwork, and customer focus Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations. Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
