The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L3) is accountable for delivering a managed service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and issues. Through preemptive service incident and resolution activities, along with product reviews, operational enhancements, operational practices, and quality assurance, this position upholds a high service standard for clients. The primary goal of this role is to guarantee no misses on service level agreement (SLA) conditions. This position deals with tickets of high complexity, executes advanced and intricate tasks, and provides solutions to a diverse array of intricate issues. This role requires significant judgment and independent analysis within established policies and practices. It calls for analytical thinking and profound technical proficiency to achieve client outcomes, while guiding and supporting junior team members across functions.

This role may also contribute to supporting project work as necessary.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that assigned infrastructure at the client site is configured, installed, tested, and operational
  • Performs essential checks, applies monitoring tools, and responds to alerts
  • Identifies issues and errors before or when they occur, and logs all incidents promptly with the required level of detail
  • Assists in examining, assigning, and elevating support calls
  • Investigates assigned third-line support calls and pinpoints the root cause of incidents and issues
  • Reports and raises problems to 3rd party vendors if needed
  • Supplies on-site technical support to clients and offers field engineering services to clients
  • Conducts a monthly random assessment of incidents and service requests, analyzes, and advises enhancements in quality
  • Offers continuous feedback to clients and affected parties, and updates all systems and/or portals as directed by NTT
  • Proactively identifies work optimization opportunities, including chances for work automation
  • May oversee and carry out projects within the technology domain, delivering effectively and promptly based on client-agreed requirements and schedules
  • May participate in implementing and executing Disaster Recovery functions and tests

  • Additional proficiency in skills such as:Pulse Secure SSL VPN / Virtual Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls / Cisco Nexus switches, ASR and ISR routers / Cisco ACS, ISE / Meraki switches and access points / Enterprise network architecture / Common routing protocols: BGP,OSPF, EIGRP / Network address translation / Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting uplinks to ISPs for DIA, MPLS, and P2P circuits / Familiarity with common network management and monitoring tools like SecureCRT, Logic Monitor

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience)
  • CCNP or similar certification
  • Certifications relevant to the services offered (additional weightage on a candidate's qualification for the role)

Required Experience:

  • Experience of several years
  • Experience needed in Engineering function within a medium to large ICT organization
  • Seasoned experience in Managed Services
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL processes
  • Strong experience in collaborating with vendors and/or 3rd parties
